Our Photofacial and Photorejuvenation treatment uses light energy from a laser & laser-like device called an Intense Pulse Light (IPL) to improve several skin concerns and conditions. The IPL device primarily addresses brown spots, blotchy redness, and broken blood vessels on the face. This effective treatment option can provide fast improvement with little to no downtime required.
How Does the Photofacial and Photorejuvenation Process Work?
Photorejuvenation, which is sometimes referred to as a “Photofacial,” improves texture by stimulating collagen production in the skin. This makes pores appear smaller and fine lines less noticeable.
The entire face is treated in approximately 20 minutes. The neck, chest, arms, and hands may also be treated safely and effectively using the ICON Aesthetic laser and intense pulsed light system for treating skin rejuvenation. No anesthetic cream is necessary during a photorejuvenation procedure.
What Are the Results of Treatment?
Typically, 4-5 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart are required to achieve the best results. Our clients love the way photorejuvenation treatments make their skin look and feel. Their skin is tight, refreshed and even-toned following treatment. For deeper problems including scars and wrinkles, we invite you to speak with Dr. Macha about our nonablative laser resurfacing, microneedling, or platelet-rich plasma treatment options.
Post-Treatment Care
Temporary redness and darkening of freckles and brown spots after each treatment are expected. Occasionally, slight swelling occurs under the eyes. More serious side effects are rare, but most can be avoided by proper sun avoidance before and after the procedure. The best way to maintain results is to protect the skin from sun and use medical-grade products in your home skin care program and a broad-spectrum sunscreen with UVA-UVB coverage. A skin consultation with our staff at CosMedic LaserMD can help you choose the correct skin care regimen.
