TempSure RF in Ann Arbor, MI: Non-Surgical Skin Tightening, Body Firming & Mole Removal at CosMedic LaserMD

TempSure is a three-handpiece radiofrequency platform that lets one device answer three different patient goals — tighter facial skin, firmer body contours, and clean removal of bothersome skin tags and moles. CosMedic LaserMD offers all three at our two Ann Arbor locations. Schedule your TempSure consultation today by calling 734-215-9390 or filling out the form on this page.

What Is TempSure?

TempSure is a 300W, 4 MHz monopolar radiofrequency platform developed by Cynosure (a Hologic company). It delivers controlled heat into the deeper layers of skin to stimulate collagen, firm tissue, and — in its surgical configuration — to cut and coagulate precisely for lesion removal. TempSure is non-surgical, has no downtime, and is safe for all skin types.

At CosMedic LaserMD, Dr. Deepa Macha uses three TempSure handpieces depending on your goal: Envi for facial rejuvenation, Firm for body tightening and cellulite, and Surgical RF for skin tags, moles, and small lesions.

How TempSure RF Works

Radiofrequency energy heats the dermis to a therapeutic temperature. That controlled heat signals your body to rebuild collagen — the structural protein that keeps skin firm, smooth, and youthful. As collagen reorganizes over the following weeks and months, skin tightens, fine lines soften, and texture improves.

What makes TempSure different from older RF devices is Therapeutic Logic Control (TLC). TLC is a temperature-sensing system that only starts the treatment timer once your skin has reached therapeutic temperature — and it responds up to 100 times faster than competing RF platforms. In plain terms: every pulse is on-target, every session is consistent, and your provider is not guessing.

The Surgical variant uses the same 4 MHz radio waves, just focused differently — to cut and coagulate tissue simultaneously with minimal lateral thermal damage. That precision is why TempSure Surgical leaves less scarring and faster healing than scalpel excision or electrocautery.

Which TempSure Treatment Is Right for You?

Three handpieces, three distinct goals. Start here to self-route.

TempSure Envi — Face & Neck

Best for fine lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, smile lines, under-eye laxity, neck, and décolletage. Sessions are 30–60 minutes and feel like a warm massage.

TempSure Firm — Body & Cellulite

Best for loose skin and the temporary reduction of cellulite on the abdomen, arms, buttocks, and thighs. Treatments can be as quick as 5 minutes for a full abdomen.

TempSure Surgical RF — Skin Tags, Moles & Small Lesions

Best for patients who want clean, minimal-scar removal of skin tags, moles, seborrheic keratosis, and other small benign lesions — often as an in-and-out appointment.

Not sure which fits? Dr. Macha will map your goals to the right handpiece during your consultation.

TempSure Envi: Face & Neck Rejuvenation

TempSure Envi is the facial-rejuvenation workhorse of the TempSure platform. It tightens loose skin, softens wrinkles, and restores firmness to areas where aging shows first — without surgery, injections, or recovery time.

Areas Envi treats

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (the “11s”)
  • Crow’s feet at the outer eye
  • Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
  • Under-eye area (via the eyeEnvi handpiece)
  • Neck and under-chin
  • Décolletage
  • Backs of the hands

What a session looks like

Your provider applies a glide gel, then moves the Envi handpiece over the treatment area in controlled passes. You feel a warm, soothing sensation — 96% of treated patients describe TempSure as comfortable. No numbing is required, and you can return to work or the gym immediately after.

Envi session protocol

Most patients see their best results after a series of 3–4 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Collagen continues to rebuild for up to three months after your final session. Annual maintenance sessions preserve results.

TempSure Firm: Body Tightening & Cellulite

TempSure Firm uses the same 4 MHz RF energy as Envi, but through larger handpieces engineered to evenly heat bigger body areas. The handpiece glides like a massage tool, making treatment sessions quick, comfortable, and downtime-free.

Areas Firm treats

  • Abdomen (post-pregnancy or weight-loss laxity)
  • Arms and the backs of the upper arms
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs (front, back, and inner)
  • Flanks

Treatment times

The 60 mm handpiece covers large areas fast. A full abdomen takes about 5 minutes. Both thighs together take about 10 minutes. Most patients schedule Firm as an in-and-out lunch-break appointment.

Firm session protocol

For cellulite reduction, most patients benefit from 4 sessions spaced one week apart, then a maintenance session every 3–6 months. Firm’s effect on cellulite is temporary — the treatment smooths tone and texture rather than removing the underlying fat. For fat reduction, Dr. Macha will often pair Firm with SculpSure.

TempSure Surgical: Skin Tag, Mole & Lesion Removal

TempSure Surgical is the precision cousin of the TempSure platform — a 4 MHz radiosurgery tool that replaces the scalpel for small, bothersome skin growths. It cuts and coagulates at the same time, which means less bleeding, less scarring, and faster healing than traditional excision.

Conditions Surgical RF can address

  • Skin tags (acrochordons)
  • Moles (nevi) that are cosmetically bothersome or catch on clothing
  • Seborrheic keratoses (raised, waxy growths)
  • Telangiectasias (visible surface vessels)
  • Milia (small keratin cysts)
  • Small benign skin lesions

What the procedure looks like

Dr. Macha will inject a small amount of local anesthetic, then use the Surgical RF tip to remove the lesion in minutes. Because the RF energy coagulates as it cuts, bleeding is minimal and the treated area typically scabs within a day, then re-epithelializes over 5–7 days.

Healing and aftercare

Expect a small scab or pink spot for about a week. Keep the area clean, apply the ointment Dr. Macha provides, and avoid sun exposure until fully healed. Most patients prefer TempSure Surgical over scalpel or electrocautery because of the cosmetic outcome — minimal scarring, especially on visible areas like the face and neck.

What to Expect During Your TempSure Treatment

Patient experience is the same story with different volume across the three variants — comfortable, fast, and downtime-free.

Sensation

Envi and Firm feel like a warm stone massage. The handpiece moves continuously over the treated area, delivering heat in controlled passes. Most patients describe it as relaxing. Surgical RF involves a brief anesthetic pinch, then the procedure itself is painless.

Downtime

None for Envi and Firm — return to work, the gym, or your social calendar immediately. Surgical leaves a small scab for 5–7 days but does not restrict normal activities.

Side effects

Mild, transient redness or warmth in the treated area is normal after Envi and Firm, and typically resolves within hours. Surgical sites may feel slightly tender for 1–2 days.

Am I a Candidate? Safety & Contraindications

TempSure is safe for all skin types (Fitzpatrick I–VI), and the FDA has cleared the platform for its respective indications. That said, radiofrequency is not right for every patient.

Ideal candidates

  • Mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck, or body
  • Dimpled skin or the temporary appearance of cellulite
  • Bothersome skin tags, moles, or seborrheic keratoses
  • Patients who want results without surgery or injectable downtime

Who should not have TempSure

  • Anyone with a pacemaker or implanted electrical device — monopolar RF is not compatible
  • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Patients with active skin infection in the treatment area
  • Patients with autoimmune skin conditions (lupus, scleroderma) — clearance required
  • Patients with metal implants in the treatment area
  • Anyone with active cancer — oncology clearance required

If you have recently had Botox, dermal fillers, or another in-office treatment, Dr. Macha typically recommends a 2-week buffer before TempSure. Your consultation is where we confirm all of this and build your custom treatment plan.

Results & Maintenance

Different variants follow different timelines — that is normal, and expected.

VariantWhen you’ll see resultsHow long they last
TempSure EnviImmediate glow; collagen rebuild over 7–10 days; full effect ~3 months6–12 months with annual maintenance
TempSure FirmVisible smoothing within a few sessions3–6 months; maintenance sessions recommended
TempSure SurgicalLesion is gone that day; healing complete in 5–7 daysPermanent for that lesion (new lesions can still form elsewhere)

The honest way to say it — TempSure is not a one-and-done magic wand. It is a reliable, comfortable, non-surgical way to keep your skin working harder for you.

Pair TempSure with Your CosMedic LaserMD Routine

TempSure is most powerful when it is part of a broader, personalized plan.

Pair TempSure Envi with Botox and dermal fillers to address dynamic lines and volume loss while Envi handles laxity. Pair it with microneedling or chemical peels on alternating weeks for a full skin rejuvenation protocol. Many patients layer in (plated)® Skin Science CALM serum for 4 weeks before a session to support recovery.

Pair TempSure Firm with SculpSure to address cellulite and fat together — Firm smooths the surface, SculpSure reduces the underlying fat. The two are frequently run in combination for comprehensive body contouring.

For facial RF combinations, some patients also benefit from ICON ThreeForMe — a three-in-one laser that targets sun damage and vessels alongside tightening.

TempSure Surgical is the add-on — a “while you’re here” treatment during a broader visit. Many patients schedule it the same day as a consultation or a facial so they walk out with one less thing to worry about.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is TempSure?

TempSure is a 4 MHz monopolar radiofrequency platform from Cynosure (a Hologic company). It delivers controlled heat into the skin to rebuild collagen, tighten tissue, and — in its Surgical configuration — to remove skin tags, moles, and small lesions with minimal scarring.

What is the difference between TempSure Envi, Firm, and Surgical?

Envi is the facial handpiece — it rejuvenates skin on the face, neck, and décolletage. Firm uses larger handpieces for body tightening and temporary cellulite reduction. Surgical RF uses the same 4 MHz radio waves to cut and coagulate tissue, which is ideal for skin tags and mole removal. All three are available at CosMedic LaserMD.

Does TempSure hurt?

No. 96% of treated patients describe TempSure Envi and Firm as comfortable — the sensation is a warm, soothing massage, and no numbing is needed. TempSure Surgical involves a brief anesthetic pinch, after which the procedure itself is painless.

Is there any downtime with TempSure?

Not for Envi or Firm — you can return to work, the gym, or your evening plans immediately. TempSure Surgical leaves a small scab for 5–7 days but does not restrict normal activities.

How many sessions will I need?

TempSure Envi: typically 3–4 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, plus annual maintenance. TempSure Firm: typically 4 sessions, one week apart, with maintenance every 3–6 months. TempSure Surgical: usually one session per lesion.

How long do TempSure results last?

Envi and Firm results last 6–12 months with annual or semiannual maintenance. Surgical RF permanently removes the treated lesion, though new skin tags or moles can still form elsewhere over time.

Is TempSure safe for all skin types?

Yes. TempSure is FDA-cleared and safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types, from very fair to deeply pigmented — an advantage over some lasers that carry higher risk on darker skin tones.

Can I have TempSure if I have Botox or fillers?

Usually yes, with a 2-week buffer. Dr. Macha will review your recent injectable history at your consultation and sequence your treatment plan so each modality has time to settle.

Can I have TempSure if I have a pacemaker?

No. Monopolar radiofrequency is not compatible with pacemakers or other implanted electrical devices. If you have one, Dr. Macha can recommend an alternative non-RF tightening approach.

Is TempSure Surgical better than having a mole cut out?

For cosmetic outcomes on skin tags, small moles, and benign lesions — yes, in most cases. The 4 MHz radio waves coagulate blood vessels as they cut, which means less bleeding and less scarring than scalpel excision, and faster healing than traditional electrocautery.

Will TempSure tighten my neck or jawline without surgery?

TempSure Envi can produce a meaningful non-surgical improvement in mild to moderate neck and jawline laxity. For more advanced laxity, Dr. Macha will discuss whether Envi alone is enough or whether you would benefit from pairing it with injectable treatments or other modalities.

How much does TempSure cost at CosMedic LaserMD?

Pricing depends on the handpiece, the treated area, and your session protocol. Because every patient’s plan is different, we share pricing during your consultation — call 734-215-9390 or schedule online.
